Let us Thank GOD for the GIFTS of FAITH, FAMILY & EDUCATION!

8th Graders:
This is your last week attending Our Lady of Mercy School as a Student - let's make it an excellent week - we'll be tired and possibly a bit sad by the end of the week - BUT let's do it the Christian Way and keep our thoughts, actions and words kind, caring , compassionate, and mostly JOYFUL for we have so much for which to be thankful - WOW are we BLEST!!

REMINDER'S:
All week arrive at school at regular time (7:50am) except Tuesday!

Monday 18th: K-4th Awards Assembly, Science Test, Finish presenting Archives Projects, Science and History Binder's Due; last opportunity to turn in missing work!

Tuesday 19th: 5:45 am OLM Parking Lot - leave for Magic Mountain - bring $ for food and water, snacks (morning juice and snack provided), items for bus trip, sun screen and items to keep cool; parents need to pick you up at the parking lot ~10:30pm.

Wednesday 20th: NO HOT LUNCH - BRING YOUR OWN, 5th - 7th Awards Assembly, Grad. Song Practice, Grading, Carnival Preparation, Clean Classroom - bring empty backpack to take home items;
Awards Dinner 6:30pm OLM Auditorium – attire – boys: dress shirts/slacks & shoes, ties look great too; girls: dress blouses & skirts or dresses, dress shoes & nylons.

Thursday 21st: Morning Prayer, Retreat 8:15am ~ 3:00pm - morning snack, juice and lunch provided, Grad Song Practice 3:15pm ~ 5:30pm.

Friday 22nd: Morning Prayer, 8th Grade Carnival Set-up, 10:00-12:00 Carnival,
12:00 - ? Clean-up - let's make sure we all help so we are finished at 12:30!!

Have a relaxing, fun Memorial Day Weekend - that includes Monday!!

Tuesday 26th: 7:50 am meet at St. Patrick's Church - graduation practice ~ 9:30 am. Please be picked up at that time.
6:00 pm return (PLEASE BE ON TIME) to St. Patrick's Church for individual Photos - group shot taken at 6:30pm.
Graduation Mass 7:00pm. Reception with family and friends, father – daughter, mother – son dances following. ~ 9:00-12:00 Grad dance - have transportation ready for you at midnight!!

You are now an OLM alumni student; we welcome you to return any time all week long and please join us for Mass, Friday at 8:15!

Let us REJOICE and Share in the Miracle of Jesus' Loving Forgiveness by TRUSTING Him with our Lives!

8th Graders:
I hope and pray you all had beautiful, loving, relaxed Easter Days and that all of you got to spend some time thanking God for the gifts of family and love in your lives. One of these special gifts is almost a finished chapter but only by location - you will always carry it with you - the gift of your Elementary and Junior High educations, the gift of your experiences at Our Lady of Mercy School.
We, the 8th grade, have 5 weeks left in this school year - let's make them the BEST weeks yet!

I want to begin our weeks by thanking all of you for the efforts you have made so far this year - some of you have grown tremendously! The final morning prayer skit that you presented to the school on Wednesday, April 8th, was wonderful - we all thank you!

Let us Die to ourselves, (our selfish desires), these last days of Lent so that we can live, (love, care, share), like Jesus at Easter!

8th Graders:
WOW what a week - your Dinner Show was WONDERFUL - CONGRATULATIONS!
Anne Frank's Musical let us view some good acting as did the Stone Ridge Follies and you did more acting in our Slave Auction! Some of you may want to try that in High School. You now know one way the Civil War soldiers entertained themselves - and so we move on to our last quarter, last 2 months at OLM! LET'S HAVE FUN WHILE LEARNING AND GROWING!!
